UMPIRE ISSUES THE INCREASE IN ATTENDANCE FEES WAS GREATLY APPRECIATED. IT WAS HOPED THAT THE UMPIRES ATTENDING CANCELLED GAMES CAN VIRTUALLY BE ELIMINATED BY TEAMS NOTIFYING UMPIRES INVOLVED OF THE CANCELLATION BY 5 PM MATCH DAY. EARLIER IF POSSIBLE. THE £3 FEE IS TO BE CONSIDERED FOR CONSIDERABLE INCREASE TO ENCOURAGE CLUBS TO ALERT UMPIRES.

FOLLOWING UNAVAILABILITY, RETIREMENT MID-SEASON, ETC, THE CHAIRMAN HAS BEEN HANDED ADDITIONAL WORK. IT WAS HOPED THAT TEAMS WOULD SORT THIS THEMSELVES. THE LEAGUE IS LOOKING FOR AN ADMINISTRATOR TO HANDLE THESE APPOINTMENTS.
