JUNE 2015

APOLOGIES DAVE STUBLEY GEOFF GILBERT AND NETHERTON

PRESENT :ALL CLUBS WITH THE FOLOWING EXCEPTIONS

ENVILLE, NETHERTON, PACK HORSE, STONE

PLUS HOWARD, NIC, AZIZ AND TONY

MID-SEASON REPORT WAS DELIVERED BY THE CHAIRMAN RAISING:

POOR REPORT CARD COMPLETION (CLUBS HAVE BEEN WARNED THAT THIS WILL ATTRACT FINES).

AZIZ REPORTED THAT THE RESULT SERVICE WAS WORKING WELL BUT URGED ALL CLUBS TO FULLY
CO-OPERATE BY ADDING MORE DETAILS OF HIGHLIGHTS.

THE LEAGUE HAD ARRANGED FOR ALL TEAMS TO BE AFFILIATED AT A COST OF £10 WITH THE TREASURER TO FORWARD THE SUM OF £110 TO WORCESTER (Dave to liaise with Mark)

TEAMS ARE ENCOURAGED TO REGISTER THEIR PLAYERS WITH THE ECB THROUGH PLAYCRICKET WEBSITE WHO WILL THEN RECEIVE EMAILS FROM ECB OFFERING ACCESS TO LOCALLY TOPICAL HONOURS BOARD.

CLUBS WERE URGED TO NOMINATE AN AMBASSADOR TO JOIN WITH COMMITTEE MEMBERS FOR THE PRESENTATION PARTY AT FINALS GAMES.

REPS WERE REMINDED THAT ALL TEAMS NEED TO HAVE A FULLY TRAINED WELFARE OFFICER TO COMPLY WITH ECB RULES. TEAMS WHO DO NOT MEET THIS CRITERIA, SHOULD GAIN TEMPORARY COVER FROM BIGGER CLUBS.

TEAMS WERE ALSO ENCOURAGE TO COMPLETE THE NATIONAL PLAYING SURVEY AS THIS WAS THOUGHT TO BE BENEFICIAL WITH THE UMPIRE PATHWAY AND GETTING THE GAME ON INITIATIVES QUOTED AS EXAMPLES.

IT WAS REPORTED THAT, IN THE MAIN, THINGS WERE PROGRESSING WELL DURING THE SEASON.

THERE WERE NO RULE CHANGES TABLED

FINAL DATES WERE AS PER HANDBOOK WITH THE INTERLEAGUE GAME PLANNED FOR 18/8 STARTING AT 6.15PM AT CHESTER ROAD WITH TEAMS INVITED TO NOMINATE 3 PLAYERS BY 14TH JULY

TODAY IS TRANSFER DEADLINE DAY 9/6/15

SPECIAL ITEM RULE 67 INTRODUCED JUNE 2014 WHICH STATES THAT TEAMS FAILING TO BE REPRESENTED AT THE GENERAL MEETINGS WILL BE FINED AND WILL RECEIVE A 4 POINT DEDUCTION. ALL CLUBS WERE RECENTLY EMAILED, ANNOUNCING WHICH CLUBS WERE DUE TO HAVE POINTS DEDUCTED BECAUSE OF MISSING THE MARCH GENERAL MEETING, AT LEAST ONE STRONG APPEAL AGAINST THE FINE HAD BEEN RECEIVED.

THE CHAIRMAN AT LENGTH OUTLINED BOTH SIDES OF THE ARGUMENT TAKING PAINS TO POINT OUT THE PROS AND CONS. DURING HIS BRIEFING THERE WERE SEVERAL INTERUPTIONS ALL POINTING OUT THAT THIS WAS A RULE WHICH HAD BEEN FORMALLY INTRODUCED AND SHOULD BE HONOURED. THERE WAS NO ONE WHO SPOKE AGAINST THIS RULE. THERE WAS CONCERN THAT IF THIS RULE WAS DILUTED IN ANY FORM IT WOULD MERELY OPEN THE FLOODGATES AND THERE WOULD BE NO END TO TEAMS BENDING THE RULES TO SUIT THEIR NEEDS.

THE DISCIPLINARY OFFICER WAS INVITED TO TAKE THE FLOOR TO CONDUCT THE VOTE.

HE POINTED OUT THAT ANY CLUB WHO WITHDREW FROM THE LEAGUE WITHOUT DUE DILIGENCE WOULD FACE A PENALTY OF £100 AND ALL THE MEMBERS OF THAT TEAM WOULD BE BANNED FROM ANY FORM OF CRICKET UNTIL SUCH A FINE HAD BEEN PAID.

THE COMMITTEE STEPPED BACK AND ALLOWED THE TEAMS DECIDE.

VOTE FOR 9, VOTES AGAINST 0, ABSTENTIONS 0

Some clubs seemed reluctant to vote either way in a show of hands but did not officially abstain
The team who brought this matter forward attended but failed to make any comment.

The rule 67 stands
