General Meeting 12th June 2018

General Meeting 12th June 2018

MINUTES: JUNE 2018

APOLOGIES: HOWARD, GEOFF & TONY

ALL TEAMS WERE REPRESENTED

THE CHAIRMAN OFFERED THE FINANCIAL STATEMENT NAMELY CURRENT £1200, DEPOSIT £1800 AND THE INVOICES HAD BEEN ISSUED FOR THE ADDITIONAL SPONSORSHIP TOTALLING £450

TEAMS WERE URGED TO COMPLETE THE RESULT RETURNS AS PER RULES IN A COMPLETE AND ACCURATE FORM TO AVOID FUTURE FINES.

COSTS ARE EVER RISING. CLUB WERE ENCOURAGED TO SEEK SPONSORS AND ADVERTISEMENTS FOR THE HANDBOOK AND IN SO DOING ASSIST THEIR OWN FUNDS AND THOSE OF THE LEAGUE.

FIXTURES ARE ON OCCASIONS INFLUENCED BY EXTERNAL FORCES (RAMADAN, SPORTING FIXTURES). WE HOPE THAT TEAMS WILL DO THE UTMOST TO ACCOMMODATE SUCH AFFECTED FIXTURES.

WITH LIMITED NUMBERS AVAILABLE THE PROVISION OF TWO UMPIRES PER MATCH IS SOMETHING OF A CHALLENGE.

ALL TEAMS ARE BEING ENCOURAGED TO USE THE PLAY CRICKET WEBSITE TO REGISTER THEIR RESULTS. THE COMMITTEE WILL SEEK TO MAKE THIS THE NORM FOR THE COMING SEASON.

PINK BALLS WERE AGAIN ON THE MINDS OF TEAMS WITH HALF THE TEAMS HAVING USED THEM AND REPORTED IN A POSITIVE WAY. THEY ARE MORE VISUAL, MORE EASILY LOCATED WHEN “LOST” AND THE WEAR FOR A MEDIUMLY PRICED BALL IS GOOD.

FINALS AT CHESTER ROAD WERE CONFIRMED AS PER HANDBOOK

10/7  JUNIOR PLATE
17/7  JUNIOR CUP
24/7  SENIOR PLATE
31/7  SENIOR CUP

THE CHAIRMAN ASKED FOR HOSTS FOR THE TEN TEN FINALS WITH QUATT OFFERING ON OR AROUND 22/8

OTHER BUSINESS: THE OUTSTANDING FIXTURE BETWEEN THE DOG AND ALVELEY WAS RESOLVED WITH ALVELEY STATING THEY WISH TO PLAY THE FIXTURE BUT HAVE GROUND CONGESTION AND ARE CONSIDERING A REVERSAL OF FIXTURES. THEY WILL INFORM THE LEAGUE.
