Best Performances: It took only 25 balls for Ian Osbourne of Stagborough to score 47 not out. Steve Morris also hit 47 not out for Alveley B but more impressively took 5-4 while bowling, to help beat Arley by 61 runs.

Amjad and Saeed of Dudley Knight Riders got their team through to the final of the Senior Plate by getting 70 not out and 55 in the game against Bewdley Arches.

Cup Finals

Invitation Cup 10/10 Final – 18th June

Jack Taylor, Paul Thomas, John Martin, M. Wood and B. Quinlan all reached 20 runs before having to retire in Cookley’s 133-0 total. In reply, Stone fell short with 89 for 3.
Cookley won the trophy and John Martin was named man of the match.

Invitation Plate 10/10 Final – 20th June

Sportsman took their first ever cup trophy in a 112-5 v 89-6 win over Alveley B. Despite 20 runs for Josh Tristam and Steve Morris of Alveley B, it was man of the match performance from Sportsman’s Phil Amos,
taking 2 wickets for 6 runs that, added to Andy Mayall and Slipanczewski’s 20 runs each, led them to their win.

Best Performances: Todd Henderson hit 200 not out as Swindon remained unbeated at the top of division A with their 266-1 v 95-7 win over Bewdley Arches.  Ben Hickaman joined him in an opening stand of 146 runs before J. Swann  came on to push the score to 266-1 after just 12 overs. A player hitting a Double Century in 12 overs is a first for the Wilden League and would be in most others too. It included 21 sixes and 15 fours!

Mick Macchia of Bewdley Nomads took  3 wickets for 1 run in just one over.

Best Performances:  Incredibly Waterfront dismissed the until-then unbeaten Wollescote for only 27 runs to go top in the Premier Division. Charles Foster’s 4-11 and 51 from James Howell were the key contributions.

In a low scoring game after 7 overs Bewdley Nomads needed just 6 runs to win, with 6 wickets in hand. Then Tom Gloucester came on to bowl again for Stagborough, taking himself to 5-13

with 4 of those wickets in just one of those final overs and sealing an unlikely win.

In the Wednesday Senior Cup semi-final Lye B beat Stagborough with Tofiq scoring 92 and Amir Manzor taking 3-13.

Wednesday Junior Cup Final Highlights:  Arley Kings 103-8 v Three Crowns 104-9. (Three Crowns won by 1 wicket)

Batting first Once Areley Kings had to thank 17 year old Neil Bowyer and 26 year old Connor Franklin for geting them to 103-8, as Liam Fidoe of Three Crowns put in a Man of the Match performance taking  5-22.

In reply Phil Pontney got 41 runs, Adam Grosvenor 16 runs and Ellis Oliver 14 runs took it to the last over to clinch the win, despite heroic bowling from Andy Forbes with 4-15 and 2 wickets each for Dan Cope and Adam Davis.

Swindon, batting first, got another great performance from Todd Henderson. He had some assistance from Rich Kennedy’s  31 runs, but he finished the innings with 105 not out scoring an amazing 42 runs off the last over! 

In reply Ryan Delo 36 runs and S. Colley 31 runs made good progress, but it was left to Matt Delo’s 29 runs off 9 balls (including 3 runs off the last delivery) to clinch victory for Stagborough in this exciting match.

Audrey Burley Memorial Trophy Final 2013 – 6th August

Hagley 75-3 v Lye B 73-7 – Hagley won by 7 wickets

Lye B failed to post a good total, with Zubair Bhatti’s 19 and Amjad Hussain’s 15 runs being the only ones in double figures.

Hagley’s best bowler was James Trinham with 1-1 in his over, and he also contributed 11 runs to become Man of the Match.  Amjad Ali’s 16 runs was Hagley’s highest batting score as they secured the Trophy.

Wednesday Junior Plate Final 2013 – 8th August

West Hagley 94-1 v Arley 93-6 – West Hagley won by 9 wickets

 

The match began terribly for Arley, who lost three batsmen for 5 runs. They recovered a little with Matt Smith 26, Richard Keay 22 not out and Luke Mundie 20 helping them reach 93-6.

West Hagley bowler Razam Mohammad’s 4-22 and 19 runs led them to an easy 9 wicket victory, with Adam Turner’s 35 and Ryan Field‘s 29 the other notable performances.

Wednesday Senior Cup Final 2013 – 13th August

Wollescote 141-8 v 180-6 Lye B. Lye B won by 39 runs.

 

Lye B responded to defeat in a final last week with a star performance from Zubair Bhatti, whose 94 not out came in only 36 balls. Tofiq Anwar’s 33 runs helped swell the total to 180-6 as Wollescote’s Kuldeep Diwan took 3-32.

In reply Wollescote struggled with the bowling of Amir Manzoor 3-29 and Rameez Lowe 3-38. Their best hope was Kuldeep Diwan who got 50 runs in 24 balls. Zubair Bhatti was Man of the Match.

Wednesday Senior Plate Final 2013

Dudle Knight Riders 125-9 v 106-6 Bewdley Nomads – Knight Riders won by 19 runs

The match was dominated by the bowling of both sides. Mick Macchia and Jacob Barnsley took 4 wickets each for  Bewdley to restrict Knight Riders, but Man of the Match Aglaal Khan responded with 4-19 including 3 in 4 balls.
